Moonbirds is a pixelated owl NFT project under the Proof Collective ecosystem. Proof Collective is a private membership group of 1,000 members, with a floor of 125 ETH at the time of writing.
The total supply for Moonbirds is 10,000 with a mint price of 2.5ETH per nft; each member of Proof Collective were given two mints, leaving an 7,875 supply for the public.
Initially the team planned to do a Dutch auction with the price starting from 2.5ETH however to avoid gas wars, they decided to launch via a Premint allowlist raffle . The 7,875 supply were raffled off to the public, with a total registration of 32,218 people excluding the 14,649 entries that were removed due to being suspected of bot activities.
The Moonbirds team consists of Ryan Carson, Kevin Rose and Justin Mezzell.
-Ryan Carson is COO at Proof Collective, the previous CEO at Treehouse, an online technology school.
-Kevin Rose is the Co-founder of Proof Collective, the founder of digg, an online media website, and a partner at True Ventures.
-Justin Mezzell is the Co-founder and CPO, a illustrator and designer with previous clients like Google, PayPal and Disney.
Moonbirds was one of the most hyped NFT drops of 2022. So far it has lived up to expectations and some could say it has even exceeded it. The collection took the whole NFT space by storm, there was initial hesitation from investors about the high mint price however all doubt seemed to disappear after launch. Moonbirds reached a peak of 39ETH floor, with a current all-time volume of 111,500ETH volume. The volume has surpassed that of projects that have been around for months, ranking Moonbirds 9th in ATH volume after only being around for 8 days.
